Arthur Arbesser SS16 pays homage to femininity, innocence and grace.
This season, Arthur Arbesser brings back to life the artist who inspires him most: Balthus, an artist whose paintings of ruminating adolescents girl and felines, unaware of their allure, leave the spectator feeling disturbed yet pleasantly intrigued. Arbesser recreates these same feelings through experimentation with minimalistic silhouette shapes, light fabrics and discreet tone-on-tone watercolor prints.
His loose fits with edgy details add an assertive element to the sophisticated yet effortless silhouette. These streamlined shapes are then enhanced by a delicate interplay of colors and the use of abundant soft silk adds a touch of femininity.
To add to the playful tone of this collection, Arbesser collaborated with French artist Agathe Singer, whose watercolors of wide-eyed cats been placed on tees, jumpers and overalls.
